Few vertical experiences...
OIL REFINERY
CCS has deployed a Corporate Intranet Portal with 176 separate sub-sites
representing every department, several groups, social networking, and a blog site
for employees. The portal is powered by Microsoft Office SharePointŪ Server 2007,
for managing Content and Collaboration sites. CCS has developed various custom
Web Parts for Video Gallery, Image Gallery, Slide Shows, Press Clippings, News Rollup,
Flash announcements, Messages etc. to provide rich user experience. Custom
application pages and content types were developed using Visual Studio to cater
to various functional areas and to integrate with other applications. CCS
has also implemented custom workflows for all their employee services using Visual
Studio and SharePoint Designer to automate complex business processes.
TELECOMMUNICATION
CCS configured enterprise wide MOSS 2007 intranet portal integrated with
MS Exchange server, MS Dynamics, MS Project server and other line of business applications
for an official telecommunication provider. It was a farm server environment having
40+ sub sites for various departments. The portal mainly caters Content Management,
Collaboration, Business Intelligence and Business Process needs. Active directory
based, single sign-on authentication is configured to enable integrated and powerful
security. Social networking site integrated with My-site, provision to store scanned
files directly from the scanner along with Metadata, automatic email filing, automation
of various business process, wide use of excel service for publishing analysis reports,
KPI for targets, mobile enabled etc.
PRODUCT SERVICES
CCS developed a SharePoint based application and Business Intelligence
enabled portal to streamline the servicing of equipments. Each round of service
is tracked and required appointments were generated through this application. The
appointment scheduling and intimation to the client store was automated using event
handler. The off-line service feedback entry was implemented by using InfoPath form
which when received as email, automatically updates the information in SharePoint.
The solution also provided a Dashboard with graphical indications of various statuses
of appointments and services. This application also uses SQL Server reporting service
for various analysis reports on equipment service.
MEDIA / BROADCAST
CCS has enhanced an existing MOSS portal for a large media company by designing
and developing custom solutions and automating complex processes. One of the workflows
that we developed for this company was Domain Approval workflow for purchasing/registering
domain names. Being a broadcasting company they might want to register domain names
for different programmes, initiatives, subsidiary offices, brand protection etc.
This workflow is participated by a large number of people/groups having more than
twenty five different roles including external stakeholders. The approval/review
processes in some parts of the workflow are parallel and in other parts it was sequential.
The workflow also facilitated required communication with other participants in
a mail-reply like interface at different stages of the process. The company saw
immediate results after deploying the solution. The major improvement was the control
over time and processes. People started to receive emails as soon as they were assigned
task. They were able to know the status of a particular process very quickly from
the workflow status page. Tasks were escalated to next level, if needed, automatically
by the system. The custom web parts developed by CCS allowed people to personalize
their own pages in the way they wanted to view it.
SCHOOL
CCS configured an information portal in Microsoft SharePoint for various
categories of users in a school. The portal was loaded with content management capabilities
which include reward based wiki, policies, procedures, meeting agendas and minutes.
CCS developed a customized solution to route the request, documents, application
forms etc sent through email from specified authors to respective document folders.
WebDAV technology was also used to provide direct document upload to SharePoint
through virtual drive.
IDEATION
Deployed a SharePoint application for a huge Content Management and Collaboration
portal hosted by a professional company. Custom application pages and web parts
were developed to collect, display and manage ideas and contributions. Document
libraries and list libraries were used to store contents to support ideas proposed
by employees. The application pages developed were capable of interacting with third
party "ideation" systems. Using the web parts developed, employees were able to
customise pages depending on their interest and requirement.
