To achieve this, CCS has deployed Microsoft Office SharePoint Server Portal and customized it for them. Situation DIRAAGU was already using an in-house SharePoint Portal which was mainly used for Document Management and Collaboration to a limited extent. The main objective was to provide an employee portal with enhanced Collaboration, Business Processes Automation and Business Intelligence capability. The main challenges in the Document Management area were managing of scanned documents like application for new mobile connection, application for internet connection, invoices etc and email filing. Another area of concern was scheduling of repetitive tasks. Business process automation was another major goal of this portal. The company has many process like Purchase request, Alarm check list etc. which are currently sent as emails or as paper documents to participants for process management. Above all, various departments in Dhiraagu mainly use excel based chart for reporting purpose which were sent as mail to the concerned people for sharing. To achieve this, CCS has developed a custom solution in SharePoint. Situation Client XXX has been engaged by one of their clients to perform regular tests of a device at all of the client s stores. Each device needs to be tested periodically. Testings were carried out by the Client s Sales Representatives using one of the various test units. Client needs a system to help schedule these visits and track the outcome of each individual device test. As Client already had an Intranet based Windows SharePoint Services 3.0, it was decided to build the solution on this platform. The Sales Representatives will also need an easy way to record the results of each device test carried out at a client site. The Sales Representative will not be connected to the Client network during this time. The solution should allow the Sales Representative to forward the test details back to Client s head office once they are online again. Solution CCS developed a SharePoint based Solution to maintain the list of stores. A separate SharePoint list was used to track appointments for each round of testing. The appointment scheduling and intimation to the client store was automated using event handler. The offline test result entry was implemented by InfoPath form which when received as email, automatically updates the information in SharePoint.
